Historical Celebration

Many of our families will be celebrating Thanksgiving this year but for some of our families this is a historical event as they celebrate "Thanksgivukkah".  This will only happen once in our lifetime.  Please visit this site to learn more about "Thanksgivukkah" and why this is such a special event.
I would like to thank a colleague of mine, Mr. Levin for sharing this site with me.

Fabulous Friday in Grade 4

It was a fabulous Friday for our Memorial 4th graders.  Each student received their I-Pad.  Students immediately immersed themselves into the camera and note app to share their photo and a  question or two about the I-Pads.  Next week we will discuss their questions and comments as we begin to explore some of our core apps that we will be using system wide in Burlington.  Tune in for more iinformation over the next few weeks.

Welcome Back 2013

What an exciting year ahead at Memorial.  We are going 1 to 1 in grades 1, 4 and 5.  Our I-Pads are being delivered to the school today.  We are all looking forward to implementing these into our curriculum.  We have 30 foundational apps that the students will be using along with some selected apps by grade level.  Our I-Pads will be kept in school and will not be going home.  We will keep you posted on some of our exciting projects we will be doing.

Our first class will be on basic use and rules of I-Pads in the classroom  Students will be learning how to use the different apps that we have on the I-Pads during our integration lessons throughout the school year.

We have started the year off with our I-Ready and Symphony testing.  This is already underway.  Testing is completed on September 24th.  Please check back to see how we are using our I-Pads and don't forget to ask your child what they are using them for.  Looking forward to a great

Welcome to Mrs. Weldon's Blog.

I have created a few pages of curriculum links for you to use that our teachers seem to like.  Please let me know if you have some to add to our list and we would love to have your feedback on what we use.

We have had alot of new on-line activities taking place in our school this year.  We are embracing Google Doc's with our students.  We have found some great Google Apps to try.  Please visit us often to see some of the latest favored apps of our school.

We have two I-Pad carts that are always in a classroom somewhere in our school.  Our teachers share the carts of 30 between classrooms and we are hoping to get more in the future.  We have 118 apps that support our Math, Science, ELA and Social Studies curriculum.    They circulate daily.

Please check back with us to see some of our classroom blogs.
