Fabulous Friday in Grade 4

It was a fabulous Friday for our Memorial 4th graders.  Each student received their I-Pad.  Students immediately immersed themselves into the camera and note app to share their photo and a  question or two about the I-Pads.  Next week we will discuss their questions and comments as we begin to explore some of our core apps that we will be using system wide in Burlington.  Tune in for more iinformation over the next few weeks.

Grade 5 I-Pads are Here!

Our Grade 5 students received their I-Pads today.  It was an exploratory day for some of our apps and using the camera to set our home and lock screens photos.  Check back to see what we will be working on.

Lowell Mills

Mrs. Keating's third graders are creating books in Book Creator on the Lowell Mills.  The third grade class just took a filed trip to the mills and took photographs of their visit.  They have titled their book "Do You Want to Be a Mill Worker?  They are writing books to persuade people to come to the mills to work.  Check their blogs in a few weeks to read their stories.

Welcome Back 2013

What an exciting year ahead at Memorial.  We are going 1 to 1 in grades 1, 4 and 5.  Our I-Pads are being delivered to the school today.  We are all looking forward to implementing these into our curriculum.  We have 30 foundational apps that the students will be using along with some selected apps by grade level.  Our I-Pads will be kept in school and will not be going home.  We will keep you posted on some of our exciting projects we will be doing.

Our first class will be on basic use and rules of I-Pads in the classroom  Students will be learning how to use the different apps that we have on the I-Pads during our integration lessons throughout the school year.

We have started the year off with our I-Ready and Symphony testing.  This is already underway.  Testing is completed on September 24th.  Please check back to see how we are using our I-Pads and don't forget to ask your child what they are using them for.  Looking forward to a great

                            Mr.Allegretto and Mr.Calvin delivering our I-Pads!
