What does 1:1 look like at Memorial you ask?

1:1 has changed student and teacher workflow in the classroom.  This year our 4th grade teachers decided to move from handmade posters to digital presentations.  Students in 4th grade used Google Presentation, Explain Everything or Book Creator to share the process of creating their inventions.  They had to design their own logo, take photo's of different types of simple machines found in the school, create a patent, research and design their invention.  Today was presentation day. Students wowed our visitors with their innovative inventions and presentations.  Great job 4th grade!

Chalkboard in Kindergarten

Our kindergarten students are using Chalkboard  during their math block.  This week they were doing addition and subtraction .  They were great helpers putting the I-Pads away.  Make sure you ask them what "Apple Up" means when using the I-Pads and how they are suppose to hold an I-Pad in school when walking around with it.  Stay tuned for more fun in Kindergarten.

2nd Grade Continents QR Code

We created a QR code that may be used with the students I-Pads for doing research on the continents.  Our 2nd grade teachers are using this for research for their writing program.  There are a few sites that cannot be viewed on the I-pad  but the majority of them work fine.  Trudy's and K Bears are two that  you will need to use your computer lab for but they are great sites to use for continent research so make sure you book some time in your school's lab.  The QR code will take you to my 2nd grade blog page where you will find other links as well to use with your curriculum.  Make sure you use your Qrafter app if you are using your I-Pads to have the students easily access the blog with just a few taps.
