Students in grades 3-5 have been participating in National Computer Science Week. Memorial students have been learning about programming this week. To find out more about some of our actiivities please visit some of our sites we have used this week. I have added a few extras for those of you that would like to continue throughout the year with some fun coding activities.
Mrs. Harlow;s fourth grade created projects in Explain Everything. They photographed the rocket building process and then explained the process along with their photos using the Explain Everything app. They recorded their projects and created videos to post on their digital portfolios.
Second grade students created "Tree Guides" using the Book Creator app on their I-Pads. Students went on a tree walk with their teachers where they photographed different types of trees, leaves, seeds and bark. Students then created their Tree Guide Book using their I-Pads. They also made videos out of their projects for their digital portfolios.
OFirst grade has been planting pumpkin seeds in their classroom. Yes I said in their classroom. They have hollowed out pumpkins and added some soil to watch the seeds from the pumpkins grow into vines and hopefully into a giant pumpkin. Students have been learning the lifecycle of a pumpkin seed and part of their assessment was to recreate the lifecycle using the Drawing Pad App.
